DJFL Players, Parents & Fans:

It is with great sadness that we have officially canceled our 2020 season. As many of you may already know, the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) has delayed football in Minnesota until the spring of 2021. At this time, we cannot say for certain if this will be an option for our youth program. We are working with other programs and facilities to explore this alternative and will keep you informed as we work out the details.

There is a possibility that a small camp may be offered yet this fall. We are still monitoring guidelines from the MSHSL, and local high school programs, to develop our own plan should this option become viable.

We will be giving full refunds for all money paid for the fall league. Refunds will be issued tonight. Please keep in mind, some banks may take several days to process these refund requests depending on method of payment.

At this time, we fully expect and hope, that our spring TackleBar, and/or Spring football league will proceed. Please check back to our Facebook page for updates. We are very disappointed that we are unable to offer you a football league this fall, let's keep our fingers crossed that we will come back stronger in the spring! - DJFL

The official announcement from the Northland Youth Football Conference (NYFC) is attached below for your reference.

Due to the recent decisions from the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA), the Northland Youth Football Conference (NYFC) is cancelling all conference games and scrimmages for the 2020 fall season.

At this time, the NYFC has not made a decision on moving our season to the Spring of 2021. Over the coming months, the NYFC board members will monitor closely decisions from the MSHSL, WIAA, and CDC to determine the best course of action regarding a spring season. Field conditions, and field space will be limited here in Northern Minnesota & Wisconsin during this time, so this too may not be possible. We will work in the coming weeks and months to determine the viability of a spring season.

The health and safety of our players, parents, and fans are of the upmost importance. If you have any questions regarding your program’s plan, please contact them directly.

Thank you, and stay safe.

Hello DJFL players, parents, and fans!

We are announcing a delayed start to our season. As many of you are aware, all of us are awaiting Governor Walz’s announcement on the “return to school” plan set to come out this week. The Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) will put out their determination for fall sports next week. With the uncertainty of a start date for fall sports, and without specific guidelines for return-to-play from the MSHSL, we have decided to delay the start of our season to August 17th.

There is a chance the season may be pushed back even further depending on the decision from the MSHSL. The WIAA (Wisconsin) delayed high school football until September 7th.

We will of course follow the recommendations of the MSHSL and the CDC if or when we return to football this fall.

We appreciate your understanding during this process and will keep you updated as we get additional information from state officials. The safety of our players and fans is of the upmost importance.

We will send out updates next week on the status of our season, and our plan to get athletes back on the field safely. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thank you!
