Below you will find important information regarding the upcoming season and available summer camps. Please be sure to register ASAP as space may be limited for some age groups and events. FIRST PRACTICE: August 5th, 2024
LOCATION: Irving Football Field (20 S. 57th Ave. W.)
TIME: 5:00pm-7:00pm
Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Practices - For the first two weeks, all ages practice Monday-Friday, 5pm-7pm. After that the practice schedule will be as follows:
7th & 8th Grade: Mon-Fri
5th & 6th Grade: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri
3rd & 4th Grade: Mon, Wed, Fri
Games almost always played on Saturday. Some mid-week games may be on the schedule.
Athletes will be suited with helmets, shoulder pads, game/practice jerseys, & football pants. You will need to provide a mouth guard, protective cup, and cleats.
Regular season games and playoffs for all ages! The official game schedule will not be available until right before the start of the season. Once our conference has the official number of participating teams, the schedule will be released. We will forward that schedule and post it to our website as soon as we have it.
DJFL FREE FOOTBALL CAMP: July 23rd, 24th & 25th
Location - Irving Football Field
Time - 5:00pm - 7:30pm
Come join us for our free football camp open to all kids grades 3rd-8th. Online registration required. If you have signed up for the regular season, you do not need to sign up for the camp (registration covers both). This football camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of football using USA Football skills and techniques. Camp will include age-specific drills/training and 7-on-7 games. The 8th grade schedule has also had some minor changes and is updated on the website.

Jamboree Information: Saturday, August 19th.

7th & 8th Grade will be playing at Egerdahl Field in Proctor. (185 Pionk Drive, Proctor)
3rd & 4th and 5th & 6th Grade will be playing at Lincoln Park Middle School in Duluth. (3215 W 3rd Street, Duluth)

Hello DJFL Players & Parents!
The 2023 season begins this Monday, August 7th.
We are very excited to start playing football again and we are glad you will be joining us. Below are a few tips to ensure a smooth start to our season and help answer any questions you might have.
Practice starts Monday, August 7th, 5:00-7:00pm. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Location: Irving Football Field (20 S. 57th Ave. W.)
RAIN OR SHINE, practice is required! Games are played in the rain so it is important to practice during inclement weather as well. In the event of severe weather, cancellation notices will be sent via email & Facebook. Given the uncertainty of Duluth weather, sometimes these notices may not go out until right before a scheduled game or practice.

What to bring.
-
Please come to practice prepared for the weather. This time of year, kids should arrive in shorts, t-shirt, & cleats. (mouth guard & protective cup once light contact begins on Thursday)

We will provide all other necessary equipment.

Athletes will be given their equipment during the first week of practice.

When to arrive.
-
Practice will be 5:00-7:00pm. You should arrive to practice 15 minutes early to prepare.

7th & 8th Grade will practice Monday-Friday

5th & 6th Grade will practice Monday-Friday during the first two weeks. After this, they will practice Mon, Tues, Thurs, & Fri.

3rd & 4th Grade will practice Monday-Friday during the first two weeks. After this, they will Practice Mon, Wed, & Fri.

Parents & guardians: You must be at the field by 7:00pm to pick up your athlete! All of our coaches are volunteers and many have jobs or families to return to following practices. Please keep this in mind and be on time for pick-ups.

Payments – If you have not yet paid, please bring your payment to the first practice.

Make sure your son or daughter is well hydrated leading up to practices and games. Kids should be drinking plenty of water both on and off the field while participating in any athletic sport.

We will have water available so you do not have to bring water bottles.

Player/Parent Handbooks will be handed out during the first week of practice. They will contain coaches contact information and rules and expectations of player and parents for the upcoming season.

Practice schedules are to be determined. However, all grades should expect that the first two weeks will be Monday-Friday 5:00p-7:00p. After that, teams will generally practice as follows:
3rd & 4th Grade: 3-4 days per week
5th & 6th Grade: 4-5 days per week
7th & 8th Grade: 5 days per week.
Game schedules will be posted to our website by the start of the season. While mid-week games are sometimes played, most games will be played on Saturdays.

Each grade will have several weeks of regular season games followed by playoffs.
